The topic was the relation between the European Space Policy and its impact on the life of citizens and on enterprises, as well as on the public administration.
The two-day Conference had been divided into four different sessions: effective use of space applications and services; the state of the art of joint EU-ESA projects; new aspects of competition in a global market of space activities; the Parliamentary point of view.
19 Parliamentary delegations took part at the Conference (For the EISC: Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Russia; as observers Poland, Romania, Estonia, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, China and Japan).
An international round table on the future prospects of space policy introduced the Conference, leaded by Chairman of Vast Comittee Daniele Capezzone, MP, with the participation of Minister for University and Research Fabio Mussi, of ESA Director general Jean-Jacques Dordain, of CNES President Yannick D'Escatha, of DLR President Johann Dietrich Worner, of ASI President Giovanni Fabrizio Bignami and Mercedes Sierra for CDTI.
A final resolution was approved at the end of the Conference.

On Tuesady 5th June 2007 a Seminar has been held in Palazzo Montecitorio, Chamber of Deputies in sala Mappamondo, on “Future perspectives of the European space policy” organised by the Committee for the Evaluation of Scientific and Technological Options (VAST), which is part of the Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies. Jean-Jacques Dordain ESA's Director and ASI’s President Giovanni Fabrizio Bignami had make a report to Vast Committee.

9th European Interpaliamentary Space Conference (EISC), organized by Vast Committee of Chamber of deputies will be posponed from 24th Monday-25th Tuesday September 2007 to 8th Monday-9th Tuesday, October 2007. We took this decision considering the coincidence, in the whole third week of September, of International Astronautical Federation's (IAF) 58th Int'l Congress in Hyderabad (India), from 24 to 28 September 2007, and the fact that many EISC, ESA and National Agencies delegation will partecipate to this Event.

Italian Parliament will hold the Chairmanship of the 9th European Interparliamentary Space Conference (EISC) and the Vast Committee (Committee for the Evaluation of Scientific and Technological Options) of the Chamber of Deputies, which is responsible of technological and space issues at parliamentary level, will take care of the organization of the Conference in 2007.
